Fertility, Pregnancy & Postpartum

Whether you're preparing to conceive, supporting a current pregnancy, or recovering afterward, naturopathic care works alongside your medical team to support you through each stage.

Preconception & fertility optimization

The months before conception matter. Dr. Gaucher focuses on the foundations that support healthy conception — nutrient status, blood sugar, thyroid function, and cycle health. Where conditions like PMOS / PCOS or thyroid disease are in the picture, addressing them is often part of the fertility conversation.

This care is provided alongside your physician or fertility team, not in place of them.

Pregnancy support

During pregnancy, naturopathic care complements — it does not replace — the prenatal care you receive from your OB or midwife. Support may include evidence-informed nutrition, safe management of common complaints such as nausea, fatigue, and reflux, and appropriate nutrient supplementation, always coordinated with your maternity provider.

Postpartum recovery & depletion

The postpartum period is often under-supported. Pregnancy and breastfeeding draw heavily on nutrient reserves, and ‘postpartum depletion’ — fatigue, low mood, hair loss, brain fog — is common and treatable.

Dr. Gaucher assesses iron and ferritin, thyroid function (postpartum thyroiditis is common and frequently missed), nutrient status, and mood, then builds a recovery plan.

What Dr. Gaucher investigates

  • Thyroid function, both preconception and postpartum
  • Iron and ferritin
  • Vitamin D and other key nutrients
  • Blood sugar and metabolic health
  • Cycle and hormonal patterns relevant to fertility
