What is a neuromodulator?

Neuromodulators include Botox®, Nuceiva®, Xeomin® and Dysport. These products all have the same mechanism of action and contain a very dilute amount of a purified protein that acts to block contractions of the targeted muscle(s). They are often collectively referred to as Botox, but this is just one brand. Dr. Gaucher uses Nuceiva® at the clinic because of its consistent, high quality results.

What areas does Botox/Nuceiva treat?

Common areas treated include the 11’s (frown lines), forehead wrinkles and crow’s feet.

When will I notice results and how long do they last?

Typically, the maximum effects of Botox/Nuceiva occur around day 10-14, but you may start to notice changes as soon as 48 hours after treatment. These effects last for approximately 3-4 months.

What is the cost of a single treatment?

Cost is based on the amount of units used and is priced at $10/unit. Therefore, the cost varies greatly depending on the individual and their desired results. This also means that treatment can be tailored to the individual and there is no minimum spend or cost per area. If you are wanting more information or would like to know what would be needed for you, book in for an initial botox appointment. Consultations are always complimentary and there is no pressure to get treatment that day.

What is the recovery time for neuromodulators?

The great thing about Nuceiva is that there is practically zero downtime! Treatment takes about 10-20 minutes and you can continue on with your regular day. We recommend avoiding vigorous exercise, lying down or hot areas (such as saunas) for the remainder of the day.
